Default How Not to Fail at PvP

Hey everyone!

I have been pvping recently and have always brought my friend with me. The only problem, he is the biggest PvP noob ever! I will leave him unnamed because he is just that bad. To help you guys learn how to PvP, I'm going to tell you all of his fails so you don't make the same mistakes.

1. While Monking in RA, he went single profession without any shield sets. He also brought heal party and reversal fortune. Seriously, if your only going one profession at least bring guardian, of course he didn't. So we asked him how do you expect to Kite. He said, what is a kite?

2. Know your PvP terms. He thought you need a string for a kite and we told him you get it from the traveler. (lol)

3. In AB, we were at Ancestral and were in the fort. We all said (on vent) leave now or you will die. We left and 20 seconds later, he was still there! Always listen to what your team is doing and if not on vent, look at your radar at the very least.

4. In AB, The Non PvPer and myself both had searing flames. Instead of just pounding a target, he was calling for a spike. First off, I don't even think you can spike with two people. Secondly, instead of calling it, if we just kept hitting him, he would have gone down sooner or later. Point 4= Know how your build works and how it works for what you are playing.

5. In HA Courtyard (this one is my favorite), our ghost died so we told him to get the ghost. He runs all the way around the long way instead of opening the door. We were all yelling go through the middle and he said ok. He gets the ghost, we open the door, and he goes the long way around again. It was quite funny afterward but during the match I was very angry he did this. Lessson 5= know the maps your playing.

6. Lastly, for now, We were Haing as Balance and he was the earth shaker. One problem, he didnt have a Stonefist Insignia. Who runs a KD warrrior with a stonefist. Last lesson, run an appropriate equipment with your bar.

I know most of these Lessons were quite nooby ones but they are important. I will add new events to what our mysterious PvPer does. When you start to play with noobs like this often, you really start to enjoy the funny things they do ^^

This does cover some really common and general mistakes, such as not having the right equipment, and not doing your research to understand the format.

Also, your friend clearly isn't ready for HA, so I suggest working with him in RA and AB until he is more prepared, so that he doesn't get discouraged in the more competitive formats.

Hey Stee, nice it covers the 'funny' moments we have had with our friend. Btw Stee forgot to mention he is R3 Hero, so although he has HA and PvP experience it just shows that some folks are still a little slow to pick up the general basics. Stee, you should mention the 40/40 sets....lol.

You just sound like " haha come laugh with me about my 'friend' ". He's lucky to have you. I especially like the friendly part where you told him to get a string from the traveller to kite. And two players are able to spike yes.

Btw he is hero 3 forgot to mention that so he isnt a noob in that sense.

This isn't a troll thread, I am taking real life pvp experiences and putting them in this thread so people know what not to do. Giving an example of what someone did is better than reading what to do.

I think some folks are missing the point here. The thread highlights that even some ranked players are not as experienced as one believes and that as a team you should ensure that all understand the maps, the formats and that anyone new should read about the format. By making light hearted jests at these mistakes we hope that others can see and even question if they know some of the core and basic principles of pvp and HA.

Our friend has had many helpful lessons from us, but despite this he comes up with epic questions that demonstrate that he needs a lot more to learn.

As a note, we take him still on runs over higher ranked players, because he is a friend and is still willing to learn.

TY

Thanks for your exemplary non-contribution to Gladiator's Arena. I hope that your friend enjoyed this post, and that you found it satisfactory to mock him in a public forum.
